Pregnant Lopez at North Shore Hospital?

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

preg2.jpgAs rumors swirled that a pregnant J.Lo had checked into a Manhasset medical center, the hospital Tuesday denied that the Bronx-born superstar was there. Jennifer Lopez kept coy when first asked if she was expecting, and that air of mystique continued as the buzz on the Web and on newsday.com was that J.Lo had checked into North Shore University Hospital under a false name.

“She is not in the hospital,” said hospital spokeswoman Adina Conn. “She is not here under a pseudonym.” A hospital source, however, said Lopez, who is expecting twins, was “in the house.” Lopez, 38, and her husband, singer Marc Anthony, live in Brookville and announced in November they were expecting. Rumors circulated throughout the hospital yesterday that Lopez, who has not announced her due date, was there.

Visitors to the hospital in recent days have reported hearing staff talk about “the J.Lo room,” and — no surprise — it’s a little more lavish than what you find in the average maternity ward. Representatives for Lopez and Anthony did not return e-mail requests for comment. On Monday, usmagazine.com reported that Anthony’s representatives said that online reports that Lopez was in labor were “not true.”

From Never Land to flying carpets to the forested domain of an Indian princess, stars travel to their very own Fantasylands in a new round of celebrity images from famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. The new images continue the “Disney Dream Portrait Series” of celebrity photography produced by Leibovitz as Disney Parks extends, through 2008, its “Year of a Million Dreams” celebration on both coasts. Leibovitz’s images capture the transformational power of Disney dreams during a celebration that invites visitors to live out their own Disney dreams as never before at California’s Disneyland and Florida’s Walt Disney World resorts. The latest installment of Leibovitz photography spotlights more celebrities living out their fantasies by starring in Disney dream scenes:

“Where a whole new world awaits”: Aboard their genie-powered magic carpet, Jennifer Lopez (Jasmine) and husband Marc Anthony (Aladdin) soar through the Arabian night. Complete with Whoopi Goldberg (Genie) pushing them among the stars, the two images comprise a dream scene straight from a magic lantern in a scene entitled “Where a whole new world awaits.” For Lopez, the Leibovitz shoot was both transformational and inspirational: “It’s unbelievable,” she said, “a modern princess and the guy with the flying carpet… and the idea of maybe in the future my children seeing me and Marc as Jasmine and Aladdin… I think that would be pretty cool.”

Added Goldberg: “I think those genie-like qualities worked best for me. For me to come out of a bottle and give somebody three wishes seems like a pretty good bargain.”

Jennifer Lopez celebrated her pregnancy with a baby shower Saturday on the rooftop of the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City. The singer and her husband Marc Anthony both attended the afternoon shower, which was hosted by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Lopez’s producer on the 2002 film Maid in Manhattan. Lopez, 38, “looked very pretty — and very pregnant,” according to an eyewitness, who saw the couple arrive flanked by bodyguards. Among the guests were actress Leah Remini and designer Roberto Cavalli, who gifted Lopez with a pink leopard crib, according to a source. As for the decor, everything at the shower was blue and pink — and the room was covered with Swarovski crystal, said the source.

Last month the singer, who is due in a few weeks, was given matching pink and blue Tuni & G onesies from her sister Lynda Lopez. The pop star has been mum about whether she’s expecting twins, though multiple sources have told PEOPLE she’s having two bundles of joy. The singer first announced she would be starting a family with her husband of three years, Marc Anthony, 39, last November after months of speculation. “This is a special time in our lives,” Lopez told an audience during a concert in Miami, the final stop on the couple’s El Cantante tour.

Even as her baby bump grew increasingly noticeable with each performance, Lopez had avoided discussing her impending motherhood. “We’re just getting used to the fact that we’ve told everybody” Lopez tells Harper’s Bazaar for its February issue. When asked how long she is planning to take off from her career as a singer, actress and designer, Lopez says, “I don’t know — and I like that.”

J.Lo and Manager — Who Fired Who?

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

It’s all over between Jennifer Lopez and her manager, music biz legend Irving Azoff. Our Azoff sources tell TMZ he just fired J.Lo for being “unprofessional” and for allowing hubby Marc Anthony to “constantly meddle.” The mama-to-be got a letter from Azoff last week, we’re told, detailing “in blunt terms” why he was ditching her as a client after less than a year. There was also a “heated phone call” last week between Jenny’s handlers and Azoff. But Lopez’s rep tells TMZ stories of a bitter split are completely untrue. The rep says “she let him go on Friday with no drama.” As for the letter? Jen’s camp has no knowledge of it.
