Affleck Regrets TV Special

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Is this all Ben Affleck does now? Talk about a relationship that died almost 6 years ago? :

Remember the TV news special Ben Affleck filmed with his then-fiancee Jennifer Lopez to promote movie flop Gigli? He wishes you didn’t. The odd couple invited U.S. TV cameras into their home for Ben & Jen: A Dateline Special in 2003, and were candid about their romance, but Affleck has nothing but bad memories about the intimate portrayal - and he wishes he had said no to the idea. Now happily married to Jennifer Garner - the mother of his two kids - Affleck admits the special he shot with Lopez is one of his biggest career regrets.

He tells WENN:

“That special was before the movie came out and I did it at the request of the people who financed the movie. I wish I hadn’t done it. At a certain point I think you have to strike a balance between what you owe people who finance your work and the degree to which you can protect the integrity of your personal life. In that case, I erred on the side of not sufficiently protecting my own privacy. If I could do it all again I would not have done that TV special and I will not do anything like it in the future.”

Ben: find something new to talk about already.

Jennifer Lopez talks twins, upcoming movie

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Where is Jennifer Lopez these days? After giving birth to fraternal twins Maximillian David and Emme Maribel with singer Marc Anthony, this hot celebrity mom has been keeping a low profile for the most part. Is she in the studio working on another dance hit or plotting the sequel to “Maid in Manhattan”?

Well, we’ve learned that she’s filming “Plan B,” a romantic comedy about a woman unlucky in love who finally meets her soulmate the same day she becomes pregnant with twins via artificial insemination, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

However, Jennifer’s real-life role as a mom is always on her mind. “Everything I do is always about, ’I just got to get back to see the babies,’ ” Jennifer said of her 1-year-old twins in an interview with Access Hollywood. “ ‘What time am I going to be able to get back?’ ”

While Jennifer is ready to go back to work, she’s not ruling out the possibility of adding more children to the family. “Let me work just a little bit first, Let me get a couple things out there … one song, one movie, something,” she said. “I definitely want to have more though. I don’t know if it’s in the cards for us, but I would like to.”

Jennifer Lopez On Her Twins & The Possibility Of More Children

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Jennifer Lopez definitely wants more kids – maybe not right now, but somewhere down the line. Jennifer sat down with Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson for her first in-depth interview about her twins and future plans on adding even more kids to the family with husband Marc Anthony. “Everything I do is always about,’ I just got to get back to see the babies,’” Jennifer said of 1-year-old twins Maximillian David and Emme Maribel. “‘What time am I going to be able to get back?’” Jennifer said the twins loved their first birthday party and she and Marc worked hard to not let it be too extravagant. “It was awesome. They had such a good time. For 1-year-olds, you don’t think they’re really gonna enjoy their party, [that] they’re gonna be in their own world,” she said. “Were there dinosaurs and all?” Shaun asked. “No, no, no - it was not ‘Mommy Dearest,’ okay!” Jennifer said with a laugh. “They didn’t have a carnival in the backyard! [But,] we had a bouncy [bounce] and a little clown and other little kids and snow cones, very cute.” Of course, being the talented singers they are, Jen and Marc treated the twins to their rendition of “Happy Birthday,” which, like the party, was also low-key. “We weren’t harmonizing or anything like that,” she told Shaun. “Real monotone like everyone does it.”

When Shaun asked about the possibility of more kids, the 39-year-old revealed that Marc is ready now. “Let me work just a little bit first, Let me get a couple things out there … one song, one movie, something.” She said. “Marc is like, ‘What are we waiting for?’” The singer/actress, on the other hand, wants a bit of a break before getting pregnant again. “I like [need] to recuperate,” she continued. “I definitely want to have more though. I don’t know if it’s in the cards for us, but I would like to.” Jennifer revealed that motherhood has affected her usual globetrotting lifestyle. “I have to start thinking about traveling without them and that’s a big traumatizing thing for me now. I’m going to have to learn how to balance it,” Jennifer explained. “I feel like deep in my heart, that the best thing is for them to always be with me, but then sometimes I feel like I’m taking them out of their comfort zone, and maybe it’s not, and maybe a 16-hour flight for them to go for two days is not good.” As for getting back on the stage, in the recording studio or back on the big screen, Jennifer said the time is now. “Now I feel like I’m ready. I feel like [the twins] are walking around and they’re kind of like their own little people,” she said.

Jennifer Lopez felt sorry for Britney

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Jennifer Lopez sympathises with Britney Spears’ “painful” breakdown.

Jennifer, who has kept a low-profile since marrying husband Marc Anthony and becoming a mother, was shocked by Britney’s erratic behaviour in 2008 - which saw her hospitalised for mental health issues.

Talking of Britney’s breakdown, Jennifer said: “That was painful to watch.”

Britney’s problems escalated in January 2008, shortly after her divorce from Kevin Federline. She was hospitalised after refusing to return sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two, to Kevin.

Jennifer - who was previously married to Cuban-born waiter Ojani Noa and dancer Cris Judd - also says she can relate to Britney’s heartbreak following her marriage split.

Jennifer, 39, added: “I understood the pressure she was going through, having been through a divorce, having money, having people depend on you. It will destroy you.”

The singer-and-actress revealed she and Marc - who have one year old twins Max and Emme together - have their own way of handling disagreements to ensure their relationship stays healthy.

She explained to InTouch weekly magazine: “If one of us has a complaint, the other one has to listen, no matter how difficult. We have to see if we care enough to change it and if we do care, then we have to change it.”

Jennifer also praised Marc’s positive attitude to fatherhood, saying: “I can ask him to get up in the middle of the night if one of the kids wakes up. Every single time he’ll say OK. That’s a huge thing. If you have a partner who doesn’t think it’s their job - and I know people who think babies are a woman’s job - then that’s really hard.”

Jennifer: Anthony is a great dad

Sunday, March 8th, 2009
Jennifer Lopez has heaped praise on her husband Marc Anthony because he’s always willing to get up in the middle of the night to attend to their twins.

The singer-actress insists she’s found a perfect dad in the salsa star because he never grumbles about having to perform his share of baby burping and diaper duty, reports contactmusic.com.

She said: “I can ask him to get up in the middle of the night if one of the kids wakes up. Every single time he’s OK. That’s a huge thing.”

Puerto Rican `Idol’ gets love from Anthony, Lopez

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Other than making it to the top 12, the best thing that happened to Jorge Nunez so far in his “American Idol” adventure was getting feedback from Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez.

Nunez, 21, an ebullient college student from Cidra, Puerto Rico, says hearing from the Latin superstar couple has been the highlight of his journey on the Fox competition show. Ryan Seacrest read Nunez a text message by Anthony on his radio show Thursday morning, in which Anthony said Nunez’s performance brought the pair to tears.

“They are so famous here, so imagine how big they are (in) Puerto Rico. … I’m like, ‘Oh my God, they know who I am!’”

Nunez, who is putting his studies on hold for “Idol,” isn’t shy about showing emotion. He let the tears flow while reacting joyfully — in both English and Spanish — when judges praised his passionate performance of Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.”

Nunez joined Lil Rounds and Scott MacIntyre, picked by viewers this week for the show’s top 12, in a teleconference Thursday.

Lopez bags billionaire’s bling

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

JENNIFER LOPEZ’s love seemingly does cost a thing - she received thousands of dollars worth of jewellery for hosting a Hollywood fashion launch.

The singer borrowed $50,000 (£35,700) worth of diamonds from Swiss billionaire Robert Mouawad so she’d shine as she helped host the launch of fashion designer pal Andrea Lieberman’s latest line last week (23Feb09).

According to reports, Gwen Stefani, Leah Remini and Ellen Pompeo also borrowed bling, which was all returned the following day - unlike Lopez, who recevied the jewels as a gift from Mr. Mouawad.

And responding to reports the singer demanded to keep the jewellery, the star’s spokesperson Benny Medina insists Lopez actually negotiated a deal to bag the entire collection in exchange for her presence.

He tells the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six: “There was no demand whatsoever. There was an offer. It was very clear.
“She was the only celebrity whose name was on the invite. She would have done it for nothing. But this was how it was presented. It was quite a generous offer.”

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony suing for $5M

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have filed a federal lawsuit against the makers of high-end baby carriages over the unauthorized use of their images.

The couple filed the suit Wednesday in U.S. District Court against Silver Cross, saying use of their images on the Silver Cross Web site to market the carriages has caused irreparable damage to both Lopez’s and Anthony’s public images. They also maintain there’s harm to Lopez’s production company as well as her product and apparel lines.

The couple believe they have suffered in excess of $5 million, which they are seeking in addition to both a preliminary and permanent injunction against Silver Cross.

After-hours phone calls seeking comment went unreturned.
