Twins have ‘completely changed’ J.LoFriday, June 27th, 2008It might seem like Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s twins live in a nursery with over-the-top accommodations, but the family continues to live a lower-maintenance lifestyle. Us Weekly reports that the Lopez and Anthony might still be wrapping 4-month-old Max and Emme in $100 Melissa Masse blankets, but they’re doing so without the help of nannies. The magazine confirmed with Lopez’s rep that the couple is still without outside help, even while traveling abroad. A Lopez confidant also told Us, “The whole 75-pieces-of-Louis-Vuitton-luggage thing is just not happening now. … Being a mother has completely changed Jennifer.” That’s a good thing: A source told Scoop that before the twins were born, Lopez had picked up a strange travel habit. “Not even the first-class lounge was good enough for her. She kept slipping into a door inside the lounge, so people thought it was like a special VIP area,” said a traveler who witnessed the behavior on many occasions. “Turns out, it was just a storage closet. Give her credit for wanting to be left alone, but hiding in a storage closet? That’s a little extreme.” Jennifer Lopez Goes On Diva Shopping SpreeTuesday, June 24th, 2008Jennifer Lopez was a diva with a capital D shopping last week at the Catherine Malandrino boutique on Manhasset’s Miracle Mile, near where she lives with hubby Marc Anthony. “She demanded the store be shut down for her to shop alone, but they said, ‘Absolutely not,’ ” said our spy. “Then one of her eight-person entourage, including two bodyguards with their guns showing, was yelling at the clerk that Jennifer gets a 50 percent discount. Jennifer also tried on about a million outfits, then just threw it all in a pile in the dressing room and didn’t buy one thing.” J.Lo’s rep did not return a call. Lopez and Anthony Angry About Torres’ BookThursday, June 19th, 2008Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony are furious about a book the salsa singer’s ex-wife is writing about their divorce, according to reports. Former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres has written a self-help text, inspired by her split from Anthony, who ditched her in 2004 to marry Lopez. Married to Me doesn’t refer to her ex-husband or Lopez by name - but sources tell the National Enquirer the superstar couple believe Torres is cashing in on their fame. An insider tells the tabloid, “The belief in the Lopez family is that Marc’s ex only did this to capitalise on Jennifer’s marriage to Marc and also because Dayanara is jealous of Marc’s happiness. “Dayanara can’t be happy that Marc is raising the babies (five month olds Max and Emme) in the Opulent Long Island mansion she once shared with him and their two children.” J.Lo & Marc’s Home, Crazy HomeMonday, June 16th, 2008Ever since Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony brought twins Max and Emme home from the hospital in February, their mansion has turned into one crazy casa. It’s gotten even nuttier now that her mom, Guadalupe, has moved into their Long Island, N.Y., home to help after the nanny quit. “All you can hear is noise,” an insider tells Star. “Screaming, phones ringing, babies crying, TVs blaring. It’s madness.” It doesn’t help that the pop diva micromanages everything. To deal with the stress, Marc locks himself away to prepare for his upcoming world tour. Adds the source, “Jennifer and Marc love each other, but the pressure to keep their careers going while having twins can be too much for anyone.” Jennifer Lopez turns her baby twins into divasThursday, March 6th, 2008
Jennifer Lopez’s backstage requests are the stuff of legend. So it should come as no surprise that three weeks after giving birth, J-Lo’s sprogs are already getting a taste for the high life. The star, whose twins Max and Emme were born last month, has issued her domestic staff and entourage - dubbed “Team Lopez” - with an extraordinary set of baby friendly demands. Devoting one wing of her and husband Marc Anthony’s Manhattan home to the tots, J-Lo is clearly keen to give the twins the best - and most luxurious - start in life. As well as employing a trained colour therapist to paint the nursery in “health enhancing” hues, she has ordered 600-count Egyptian cotton cot linen, designer Babygros, diamond-engraved rattles and, weirdly, two small Shetland ponies for the youngsters. “Jennifer has gone all-out to give the twins an amazing childhood,” says our well-placed source. J. Lo afraid for her twinsFriday, February 29th, 2008Motherhood is something Jennifer Lopez is taking seriously — to the point people around her wonder if the superstar isn’t overreacting a bit. According to a member of J. Lo’s team, the actress and singer — supported completely by husband Marc Anthony — has really beefed up her security detail since the birth of her twins last week. Reportedly, the couple has hired six new bodyguards — two for each eight-hour shift around the clock. The annual tab for that comes to a cool $600,000, not including the cost of benefits for the new security team. In addition, closed-circuit cameras have been installed in virtually every room in Lopez and Anthony’s various homes. ”She’s paranoid about a possible kidnapping,” said my source. Lopez also increasingly has become quite the ”germaphobe.” Dispensers containing a hygienic cleanser have been placed at the entrance to the babies’ nursery and elsewhere around the house. People coming close to the children have been instructed to use those lotions every time they enter the kids’ rooms. There’s also been a purchase of what’s being called ”a lifetime supply” of surgical masks — to be worn by those coming in contact with the newborns. Alas, none of this is true, according to Lopez’s rep. She tells us, “This story is ridiculous and without merit,” adding that the two already have a security team in place and have for some time. Jennifer’s Hospital Room AwaitsMonday, February 18th, 2008
Jennifer Lopez is about to pop out twins, and that has North Shore University Hospital on Long Island in a tizzy. A staffer there says a private room - furnished especially for the mom-to-be with a luscious brown leather couch - has been sitting empty for two weeks now. The room is reserved for the diva. “No one’s even allowed in there until she gets here. It’s just sitting there for her,” said the employee. The hospital, which reportedly beefed up security recently, had no comment. J. Lo’s $120K NurseriesWednesday, February 13th, 2008
Jennifer Lopez is due any day now and her babies are going to be snoozin’ in style. Sources tell PageSix.com that the nursery awaiting the forthcoming fraternal twins is an ocean-themed room stocked in English furniture and French-made cribs decked out in hand-embroidered bedding. The tiny pair will also gaze upon 18-karat gilded trim and chandeliers in Jennifer and Marc Anthony’s Long Island home, as well as in the nurseries in their Bel Air and Fisher Island homes. The total cost of digs for two adorable babes? Over $120,000. PageSix.com also has a peak at their new baby gear. The twins will stay cozy in $43 matching onesies by Huddy Buddy, with pink and blue tags reading “I’m part of a set.” To get them through winter in New York, they have matching pink and blue cashmere sweater and pants sets by Baby CZ, that retail for $269, bundled in $116 organic blankets by Robbie Adrian. Like their high style mama would have it any other way? J.Lo hearts Valentine’s Day delivery dateSaturday, February 9th, 2008If all goes according to plan, Jennifer Lopez will be receiving two special valentines: namely, her twin babies, who are due on Thursday, Feb. 14. While this date has been bandied about before, a source close to Lopez said Valentine’s Day is the date she’s been focused on since the beginning of her pregnancy. “She didn’t just like it because of the obvious correlation, which is sweet, but she also was happy that it … would easily make the deadline for the weekly magazine covers.” The source said that Lopez would love it if she was able to have the first photo shoot take place in one of the three nurseries she’s had designed by Petit Tresor. “She spent over $120,000 on them (the nurseries),” said the source. There’s no overall theme to the nurseries, but all of them include cribs, changing tables and armoires imported from France and England and “some of it has 18 karat gold on the legs and knobs. The rooms will even have crystal chandeliers.” The twins, who are rumored to be named Anna Maria and Marc Ruiz, will be sharing a room, at least at first. |
