J.Lo & Marc’s Home, Crazy Home

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Ever since Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony brought twins Max and Emme home from the hospital in February, their mansion has turned into one crazy casa. It’s gotten even nuttier now that her mom, Guadalupe, has moved into their Long Island, N.Y., home to help after the nanny quit. “All you can hear is noise,” an insider tells Star. “Screaming, phones ringing, babies crying, TVs blaring. It’s madness.” It doesn’t help that the pop diva micromanages everything. To deal with the stress, Marc locks himself away to prepare for his upcoming world tour. Adds the source, “Jennifer and Marc love each other, but the pressure to keep their careers going while having twins can be too much for anyone.”

Jennifer Lopez’s backstage requests are the stuff of legend. So it should come as no surprise that three weeks after giving birth, J-Lo’s sprogs are already getting a taste for the high life. The star, whose twins Max and Emme were born last month, has issued her domestic staff and entourage - dubbed “Team Lopez” - with an extraordinary set of baby friendly demands. Devoting one wing of her and husband Marc Anthony’s Manhattan home to the tots, J-Lo is clearly keen to give the twins the best - and most luxurious - start in life. As well as employing a trained colour therapist to paint the nursery in “health enhancing” hues, she has ordered 600-count Egyptian cotton cot linen, designer Babygros, diamond-engraved rattles and, weirdly, two small Shetland ponies for the youngsters. “Jennifer has gone all-out to give the twins an amazing childhood,” says our well-placed source.

J. Lo afraid for her twins

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Motherhood is something Jennifer Lopez is taking seriously — to the point people around her wonder if the superstar isn’t overreacting a bit. According to a member of J. Lo’s team, the actress and singer — supported completely by husband Marc Anthony — has really beefed up her security detail since the birth of her twins last week. Reportedly, the couple has hired six new bodyguards — two for each eight-hour shift around the clock. The annual tab for that comes to a cool $600,000, not including the cost of benefits for the new security team. In addition, closed-circuit cameras have been installed in virtually every room in Lopez and Anthony’s various homes. ”She’s paranoid about a possible kidnapping,” said my source. Lopez also increasingly has become quite the ”germaphobe.” Dispensers containing a hygienic cleanser have been placed at the entrance to the babies’ nursery and elsewhere around the house. People coming close to the children have been instructed to use those lotions every time they enter the kids’ rooms. There’s also been a purchase of what’s being called ”a lifetime supply” of surgical masks — to be worn by those coming in contact with the newborns.

Alas, none of this is true, according to Lopez’s rep. She tells us, “This story is ridiculous and without merit,” adding that the two already have a security team in place and have for some time.

Jennifer Lopez is about to pop out twins, and that has North Shore University Hospital on Long Island in a tizzy. A staffer there says a private room - furnished especially for the mom-to-be with a luscious brown leather couch - has been sitting empty for two weeks now. The room is reserved for the diva. “No one’s even allowed in there until she gets here. It’s just sitting there for her,” said the employee. The hospital, which reportedly beefed up security recently, had no comment.

J.Lo hearts Valentine’s Day delivery date

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

If all goes according to plan, Jennifer Lopez will be receiving two special valentines: namely, her twin babies, who are due on Thursday, Feb. 14. While this date has been bandied about before, a source close to Lopez said Valentine’s Day is the date she’s been focused on since the beginning of her pregnancy. “She didn’t just like it because of the obvious correlation, which is sweet, but she also was happy that it … would easily make the deadline for the weekly magazine covers.” The source said that Lopez would love it if she was able to have the first photo shoot take place in one of the three nurseries she’s had designed by Petit Tresor. “She spent over $120,000 on them (the nurseries),” said the source. There’s no overall theme to the nurseries, but all of them include cribs, changing tables and armoires imported from France and England and “some of it has 18 karat gold on the legs and knobs. The rooms will even have crystal chandeliers.” The twins, who are rumored to be named Anna Maria and Marc Ruiz, will be sharing a room, at least at first.

Jennifer Lopez Plans Silent Birth?

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly planning a Scientology birth for her first child. According to sources, the actress is going to give birth in silence, which is the preference of most Scientologists. The silent birth is said to relieve the newborn of any stress the first week of their life. Scientologist couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is said to have practiced the guidelines when they had their first child, Suri, in April 2006. “Although she knows it will be hard not to scream, she understands why it will be good for the baby to have peace and quiet,” says a source. During a concert on November 7, Lopez announced she and husband Marc Anthony were expecting their first child together. Recent shopping trips have fueled rumors that she is expecting twins as she bought matching boy and girl outfits.

J.Lo “Confronted” by Exes at a Wedding

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Mommy-to-be Jennifer Lopez was all smiles at Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman’s wedding - except when she got two blasts from the past in the form of ex-boyfriends. Among the celebs sending warm wishes via video to Weinstein and Chapman were two of Lopez’s previous beaus, Ben Affleck and Sean “Diddy” Combs. “Jennifer was laughing at all the funny tributes,” said one guest. “But when Diddy and Ben gave their speeches, she went silent. She looked sort of uncomfortable and people were staring at her.” Lopez attended with husband Marc Anthony.

J.Lo’s twins will live the high life

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

preg1.jpgJennifer Lopez is leaving no doubt she’s expecting boy and girl twins - and that they will grow up in the sort of luxury befitting royals. In fact, the 38-year-old mama-to-be bought pink and blue onesies: one monogrammed “princess,” the other, “prince.” Both son and daughter will get equal comfort by the looks of the gifts she’s requested on her top-secret gift registry at Petit Tresor, the exclusive L.A. baby boutique. It’s not known whether pals and business types who want to curry her favor will spring for both babies or one, because what mama wants is pricey.

There’s the $349 cashmere outfit, one in pink stripes, one in blue, from Baby CZ. There are two Moses baskets for $225 each, though there are Smushy teddy bears with pink or blue ribbons for $65. If you really want to get on the diva’s good side, pick out the Balmoral enameled black carriage for a mere $3,495. There’s one $289 suede play mat. Guess they’ll have to share. The cheapest item is the Adiri Natural Nurser at $22. Lopez wants 10 of those. There’s also a $560 jogging stroller for two. It’s not known whether we should expect to see J.Lo or her nannies trotting around with the infants.

She’s also requested not one but two double Peg Perego strollers for $429 - one in toffee, and one in mint. Don’t speculate that she might even be expecting quadruplets; she’s tricoastal. Lopez, who Fortune called the richest woman under 40 in America, isn’t leaving all the spending up to her pals, who have until February to save up for the gift(s). She’s having the tastemakers at Petit Tresor design three nurseries for the teeny totlets at the couple’s estates in Bel Air, Fisher Island, and Oyster Bay, says a friend. Lopez is spending $40,000 to outfit each nest, the pal adds, including gilded cribs. “She wants them filled with the most chic furniture from Europe and embroidered linens from France.” In pink and blue, natch. Petit Tresor co-owner Samantha Winch would say only: “We don’t talk about any of our clients.”

Pregnant Jennifer Lopez had the nursery ready for two years

Friday, December 7th, 2007

stuff01.jpgJennifer Lopez had started preparing for her baby’s nursery shortly after getting married to Latin singer Marc Anthony Sources revealed that the six-months-pregnant star supervised the construction of a nursery in her hubby’s New York home. “A frilly white bassinet, a wooden crib and a fancy, pastel-colored mobile were in the process of being set up in a light-blue room that had its own bathroom and a private hallway leading to the nanny’s quarters, ” New York Post quoted an insider as saying. “It also has plush baby dolls and soft toy animals were everywhere, ” the source added.

The insider also disclosed that the room located on the northernmost side of the estate’s second floor, was filled with 10 unopened boxes of newborn goodies. J.
